Your future depends on what you do today…

Financial Life Planning

In life, so many of us are working hard to get somewhere, to do something or to achieve something that we think more or less validates us; that makes us who we are.

Many of us find ourselves at some point, where we realise we may no longer have the ability to achieve or do things that are so important to us. We look back and realise we had the time and opportunity but missed it.

Financial Life Planning can provide much needed peace of mind in this hectic world. It’s about making sure that your finances play their part while you live out your plans for your life.

Hansford Bell’s Financial life Planning Service involves three distinct stages, each influencing and complimenting the others.

Financial Life Planning Stage

We put your required lifestyle first and look to your money as a way to achieve it.

We start by asking:

  • What’s important to you?
  • What will you regret not being, not doing if it all ends tomorrow?
  • What do you want to achieve in the time you have left?

We let our meetings flow in whatever direction our clients want, rather than working to our own agenda, giving you the time to think about what it really is you want to do with your lives.

By letting our clients lead the conversation, there is very little in the way of questioning, which means we can focus on the listening.

At the end of this stage, we know where are clients are now, how they got to be where that are and where they are trying to get in the future.

Once we know what it is that you are looking to achieve, we move onto the next stage and assume the role of a Financial Planner.

Financial Planning Stage

This is an in-depth analysis of your existing financial arrangements with all the small print checked and suitability reported to you with clarity and purpose.

We do this using advanced life-time cash-flow forecasting software, stress testing and challenging your existing financial position against your specific Life Planning goals and needs.

We ask the questions:

  • When will you have enough to retire without financial worry? Are you already there? If not, when?
  • How much can you spend now to enjoy life, without guilt or concern about future needs?
  • How much risk do you really need to take with your assets?

The aim of this is to help our clients achieve and maintain their desired lifestyle without the fear of running out of money, whatever happens

Financial Advice Stage

Once we have completed the first two stages, we move onto the Financial Advice Stage. During this we will research and prepare an appropriate range of financial products, or amend your existing arrangements. This is tailored to match your requirements and aims highlighted in the previous two stages.

How we do this:

  • We ask, how much is enough?
  • We protect what you have now
  • We plan for future needs and wants, then ACT
  • We discuss Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney

  • Review, Review!
