Chris is our Managing Director and the driving force behind the development of the business. Chris is a Chartered Financial Planner, with a focus on providing high quality service, providing clients with bespoke outcomes to meet their individual circumstances. Chris takes great pride in watching his clients live their best life, using their finances to support their lifestyles.

When not at work, Chris enjoys spending as much time as he can on the water, whether that be sailing from Plymouth to the surrounding areas, paddleboarding around the coastline and has even started to dabble in surfing, although that’s definitely still a work in progress!

Becky is responsible for continually developing our ethical and sustainable client offerings, ensuring we are always aware of new products and solutions in this constantly evolving environment. As an experienced Financial Planner, Becky is always looking for new ways to provide our clients with innovative solutions to meet their needs.

Outside of work, Becky enjoys fitness and has recently taken up paddle boarding.  She is also a keen events volunteer for a local Hospice.

Ross is an experienced Financial Planner and in addition is our pension specialist, providing technical skills for complex cases. Ross enjoys utilising his knowledge and understanding of a client’s unique circumstances to improve their financial security, both in the short and long term. Having worked in various roles over the years, moving up from Personal Assistant to Financial Planning Director, Ross has key knowledge on how all aspects of the business work and is keen to see the organisation continue to grow.

When away from the office, Ross can usually be found on the golf course practicing his swing or finding new places to walk his puppy.

Emma Bird (formerly Jones) is a driving force in growing the business, building connections with local Solicitors and Accountants, allowing her to assist their clients with life and financial planning at times that can often be challenging.  Emma takes pride in making a difference to people’s lives, providing tailored advice allowing them to focus on their lifestyle, knowing their finances are looked after, enabling them to realise and achieve the things that are most important to them.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys supporting local pubs where her dog Rodney can also be fussed and spoilt.  Emma also enjoys exploring the local moors, finding new walks with Rodney and her husband Marc.

David is a Financial Planner, based in Cornwall. He is passionate about working with his clients to help them achieve their financial and lifestyle goals, using his skills to build longstanding relationships, using his detailed knowledge of his clients to provide tailored financial plans.

David enjoys being active through walking and running and takes great pride in supporting his wife in her charity and volunteer work.

Steve was a Founding Director of Hansford Bell and whilst he has now retired from that role, he continues to support the company on a consultancy basis with specific projects.

The time released from stepping back from the management side of the business has been more than absorbed, with his interests in sailing, vintage car restoration and the demands of the family small holding.

Gemma is responsible for the operational aspects of the business and making sure that we are continually compliant with regulatory requirements, in this fast-paced industry.  Having worked at Hansford Bell for over 14 years, Gemma’s experience allows her to be dynamic in her decision making.  Gemma’s focus is to continue growing the business, whilst ensuring we are a sustainable, highly compliant business, with our ethos of excellent client service.

When not at her desk, Gemma enjoys nothing more than a walk with the dogs, followed by sipping a glass of something, by the water in the sunshine, catching up with friends and family.

Janine’s role within Hansford Bell is to ensure we have the right people in the right role, and is responsible for continually developing our team, ensuring that Hansford Bell has the skills within the team to deliver our high-level service, whilst adapting to the ever-changing landscape of financial advice.  In addition to this, Janine manages the office to ensure we have a friendly and welcoming environment for our team and clients.

When not at work, Janine can be found on the beach or her paddleboard with her friends and family, enjoying the sea air and good company or walking Jimmy the dog.

Claire provides administrative support to Chris and his clients, building longstanding relationships to act as a key point of contact. Claire’s attention to detail, ensures she continually exceeds our high standards, providing clients with everything needed to make the service as seamless as possible.

In her spare time Claire enjoys painting and often undertakes commission pieces. When not painting, she likes long woodland walks and picnics with her two children.

Lee provides Becky and her clients with administrative support giving clients a key point of contact. Lee is a firm favourite with Becky’s clients, ensuring a smooth process at all times. Lee enjoys getting to know our clients and their stories.

Outside of work, Lee has always enjoyed travelling and has so far visited an amazing 6 continents, experiencing the local culture wherever possible.

Caitlin works closely with Ross and Emma and their clients to provide a point of contact and administration support. Caitlin joined us in October 2021 and enjoys getting to know our clients. Caitlin is eager to develop her skills and progress within the industry.

Outside of work, Caitlin enjoys spending times with her friends and making the most of the summer months at the beach and music.

Paula is a Qualified Paraplanner, having obtained her Diploma in Financial Advice. Paula is responsible for overseeing our Paraplanning team and providing technical knowledge. Paula’s attention to detail ensures when developing bespoke solutions for our clients, no stone is left unturned. Paula works closely with our team of Financial Planners, ensuring a seamless process for our clients.

Outside of work, Paula enjoys spending time with her family, baking, photography and drinking gin!

Having graduated from Exeter University in 2018 and receiving a commendation from the Business School, Tori is now a fully qualified Paraplanner. Tori enjoys finding solutions to meet clients’ needs and delving in to the detail. As a team player, Tori continually strives to help her colleagues and our clients in the best way possible.

In her spare time, Tori enjoys music and attends gigs whenever she can and taking trips to Cornwall.

Hannah has recently joined Hansford Bell as a Financial Administrator, following a career with the NHS in administration.  Hannah enjoys studying and is keen to build her career in Financial Services. She thrives on learning new things and the challenges involved.

Outside of work Hannah is a proud mum to Lucas and enjoys spending time with her close friends and family. She enjoys nothing more than an evening savouring a glass of something catching up with her loved ones.
