  • APFS - Associate Member

    APFS is a designation awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute to those who have completed the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning. It reflects a high level of technical expertise and a commitment to professional standards, ethics, and ongoing development.

  • DipFA - Diploma for Financial Advisers

    This diploma is a high-quality route for meeting the standards required to provide financial advice. The programme is designed to reflect the role of an IFA, providing individuals with a thorough understanding of the profession and practical skills to apply in practice.

  • Level 3 Award in Long Term Care Insurance

    This level 3 award develops the knowledge and understanding of long-term care cover, including legal, taxation and regulatory issues and the responsibilities of local authorities.

  • CF8 - Certificate in Financial Planning and Long-Term Care Insurance

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of the UK regulation environment in the financial services industry, long-term care insurance products and the giving of long-term care insurance advice.

  • Cert CII (ER) - Certificate in Equity Release

    The Level 3 Certificate in Equity Release meets the FCA’s requirement for mortgage advisers and those advising on equity release schemes. In addition to developing advisory skills, the Certificate offers an understanding of equity release regulation, products, market practice, and customer needs.

  • DipPFS - Diploma in Financial Planning

    This level 4 diploma meets the FCA’s qualification requirements for retail investment advisers, demonstrating core technical knowledge and financial planning capabilities across six core areas.

  • AdvDipIP - Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning

    This qualification enables professional advisers to develop specialist planning capabilities, covering topics such as personal tax and trust, business financial, pension and investment planning.

  • CertCII (Life and Pensions) - Certificate in Financial Planning (Life & Pensions route)

    The life and pensions route builds knowledge and understanding of the sector’s role and its activities. It considers important customer needs, solutions and products, and how individuals and organisations work within the regulatory and legislative environment.

Chris is a family man with three children and a love of life on the water. After serving 11 years in the Navy, he still enjoys sailing, adventure boating, and paddleboarding. On land, he has a particular interest in cars, motorbikes, motorsport, and coaching his son’s rugby team.

On an ideal weekend, where can we find you?

At our holiday home in South Devon, ideally near the water and with plenty of time outdoors.

Who would be at your dream dinner party?

Noel Gallagher, Ricky Gervais, and Rory McIlroy.

What activity would you win an Olympic medal in?

Tanning, preferably somewhere warm, dry, and very far away from bad WiFi.

What was your proudest moment as an IFA?

Becoming managing director of Hansford Bell.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Helping clients transition into retirement with clarity, working on the growth of the business, and presenting a completed comprehensive plan.
